The cyber criminals never run out of ways to attack the victim, one way is to create a variety of new malware. Based on data from the Internet Security Threat Report (ISTR) Symantec, found more than 430 million new unique malware in 2015. The number increased significantly compared to the data in 2009 is about 2.3 million.

Director of System Engineering ASEAN Symantec, Halim Santoso, said ;

"That's over a million new malware every day. We see there is growth and will continue to grow," Halim said when met in Jakarta, Tuesday (04/19/2015).

Along with this growth, zero-day vulnerabilities also helped to increase. In the past year, the number of zero-day vulnerability was found to increase more than doubled to 54 times or 125 percent from the previous year.

In 2013, the number of zero-day vulnerabilities has doubled compared to the previous year. Then one year later, said Halim, relatively stable as many as 24 times.

"At that time we forecast for 2015 will be more stable given the 'mega a data breach' had occurred in 2013, but it happens a big leap for increased two-fold," he continued.

Four out of five zero-day vulnerabilities are the most widely exploited in 2015 is Adobe Flash. Software that is most in demand for zero-day attacks are often the most widely used. Once known vulnerabilities, zero-day attacks can quickly be added to the toolkit cyber criminals and exploited. As a result, millions of software will be attacked and hundreds of thousands will be infected if the patch is not available or is not nimble users to install the patch.
